Knowing what you should and shouldn't buy at the store is something we all need to figure out BEFORE going into the store.

It's especially important to know which keto items you can buy at Walmart and which things you can't.

Well… Honestly, there isn't much you can't buy at Walmart nowadays.

But, you can definitely buy these keto items at Walmart and stay on track with your ketogenic diet.

These aren't the only things that are considered keto in Walmart, but they're items that will make your keto journey a whole lot easier.

Like Almond flour for instance… it makes missing bread something you don't have to do anymore!

Best Keto Items to Buy at Walmart!

Ever heard of keto mug bread? It takes about 2 minutes to microwave and it's done!

That's my kind of thing! No sense in waiting 1-3 hours for bread anymore. 😉

Simple, quick and easy.

All you need is a microwave, almond flour, an egg, butter and a tiny bit of baking soda. Poof… bread!

This list will consist of food and non-food items. I want to make starting keto easy for you. I want you to be prepared. And, I want it to be something you can stick to long-term. Which just so happens to be one of the reasons I started this blog.

Here are more posts to get you going on your keto journey:

So What Are the Keto Items to Buy?

I'm sure if you ask 100 different people what their favorite keto items are at Walmart you'll get a lot of different answers. But, that's ok.

This is a journey and we're all traveling down the road together.

Each person's journey just looks a little different.

But, these items are all definitely on the keto item list and they're all things you should be able to buy at your Walmart.

If for some reason you can't get them at Walmart then maybe you can ask management to start including them in the shipments :).

#1 Cauliflower Rice

green giant riced veggies cauliflower

I bought some of this the other day and I'm pretty excited. I have been wanting to make riced cauliflower, but I didn't like the idea of doing it by hand. My food processor is back at our house and not in our RV so that made it a no-go idea. And, I didn't want to bring my processor down here either.

So, this was an amazing find!

Riced cauliflower can be used for a variety of things! You can make fried rice, use it as rice for a bunch of dishes, and you can even use it in soups too! Or, you can even make something like cauliflower patties too and fry them up in a skillet.

Play around with this item :).

#2 Butternut Squash Noodles

Same thing as the riced cauliflower. They've spiralized butternut squash for people that are trying to replace their pasta with something that's not gluten based. It's such a great idea.

Sure, you can spiralize it yourself, but this cuts the time down for those busy individuals. It saves time and there's less mess to clean up too!

#3 Broccoli Rice

I bought this along with the riced cauliflower. I'm not quite sure what I'll do with this yet though. Broccoli and cheese soup comes to mind, but I'm going to do a quick Pinterest search first.

I love that when a need hit the market there were companies that jumped to fill the need. Having riced and spiralized items are such a huge help. The fewer items I need to own the better for me!

#4 Zucchini Noodles

These are super popular at my Walmart. How do I know?

Nearly every time I go they are OUT completely. I've been able to get one packet. ONE. That's all. While I don't mind the butternut squash noodles, sometimes I'd like the zucchini noodles too.

Hopefully, your Walmart will keep stock them more often than our Walmart does.

#5 Almond Flour

Love me some almond flour. I've been making Keto Mug Bread lately with it. (recipe coming soon as I get photos)

You can use it as breading on meat. You can make pancakes, and you can make loaves of bread. I would definitely add this to your repertoire if you haven't yet! Keto Item Must Have!

If you'd rather order it online you can order it here.

#6 Baking Powder

rumford aluminum-free baking powder

Like the almond flour, baking powder is kind of necessary. You can't make bread or pancakes without this stuff! This helps your breads rise and makes them less pack-y.

Get this if you want to make keto bread.

If you'd rather order it online you can order it here.

#7 Coconut Oil

better body foods naturally refined organic coconut oil

I love this brand of coconut oil honestly. I can't handle the flavor of unrefined coconut oil. It's super overpowering and ruins everything for me.

I tried adding unrefined coconut oil to my coffee one morning and had to toss it out. It was that bad. So, I've bought this coconut oil ever since and haven't looked back. I love it.

Coconut oil is essentially how you'll get a lot of your fat in during the day. Whether it's in your coffee or foods. It's a must.

If you'd rather order it online you can order it here.

#8 Dark Chocolate

Chocolate chips are great for hitting that sweet spot when you make a treat. I love making fat bombs with dark chocolate so I can add some Lakanto Monkfruit Sweetener to the mix. It adds a few carbs, but not near as much as regular milk chocolate.

If you'd rather order it online you can order it here.

#9 Peanut Butter

I'm a huge peanut butter fan! Peanut butter is a nice treat or snack because it has good fat content. Not to mention you can mix it with some butter and cream cheese to make a peanut butter fat bomb!

Just be careful. Peanut butter still has some carbs, so you'll want to keep an eye on how much you eat.

If you'd rather order it online you can order it here.

#10 Kerrygold Butter

kerrygold unsalted butter

Kerrygold is by far my favorite butter ever!!!

I specifically love the unsalted butter because I can control how much salt goes into my meals and my coffee. Sometimes you don't want salt in things so having an unsalted version is best.

If you'd rather order it online you can order it here. Note… it's more expensive on Amazon than it is at Walmart. But, sometimes it's worth it to order. Maybe.

#11 Heavy Whipping Cream

Mmm… nothing is better than heavy cream in your coffee to help set you up with some good fat for the day!

#12 Cheese Sticks

This is one of the snacks that I always have on hand. It's super quick and easy. Just pop it into your purse or lunch box and get going! They pair well with some pork rinds or olives.

#13 Cream Cheese

You can stuff chicken breast, bacon wrapped jalapeños, or make fat bombs with this stuff. Not to mention, you can get some bagels from Great Low Carb Bread and have a delicious bagel with cream cheese and maybe some smoked salmon too!

Or, you can make your own bagels with this recipe here.

#14 Bacon

Who doesn't love bacon? If you said, “I don't,” then I'm sorry. Bacon is amazing! Not only that, but it's full of fat!

We are a huge bacon fan family. My daughter could probably eat her weight in bacon. We have to wrangle her in sometimes.

#15 Muffin Tin

Image of some Tasty Muffin Tins

Egg muffins, keto friendly muffins, keto bread in a hole… there are so many options that you can do if you buy a muffin pan!

I actually put a tablespoon of parmesan cheese in each muffin section and baked them in the oven. Delicious parm crisps to the rescue!

If you don't already own one, I would encourage you to go pick one up.

If you'd rather order it online you can order it here.

#16 Baking Dish (long and square)

Image of pyrex baking dishes

These baking dishes are awesome because they have lids. Super perfect for taking leftovers to work.

Also, there are multiple sizes so these are great and can nest if you need them too. These are great for keto dishes because you can bake casseroles and have plenty made for the rest of the week for either lunch or another meal.

And, you can turn them sideways in the oven and cook two meals at once!

If you'd rather order it online you can order it here.

#17 Cast Iron Skillet

image of a lodge cast iron pan

Keto or not keto, everyone needs cast iron skillets in their life. They're easy to maintain and the coating doesn't come off unless you do some serious scrubbing or use *gasp* soap. By the way, never use soap on a cast iron skillet. Salt and elbow grease if you have stuck on food particles.

I digress. Having multiple sizes of cast iron skillets is essential… I think. You don't have to worry about the coating from a non-stick skillet leaching into your food.

If you'd rather order it online you can order it here.

#18 Meal Portion Containers

image of meal prep containers

Life.Savers! These little things are amazing and complete lifesavers. These are great to pack up and send with my husband. Depending on how much you meal prep, 15 might be overkill, but if it's two people you're prepping for then it's definitely awesome.

There's another container made by this company where the portion sections are flipped long ways. I like these better though. Can't tell you why I just like these better than the flipped version.

If you'd rather order it online you can order it here.

Check out this comprehensive post to learn what meal prep containers are right for you.

#19 Big Stainless Steel Water Container

I carry this thing with me everywhere. I fill it up every morning and sometimes in the afternoons too. Depending on how thirsty I am that day or how hot it is.

Make Your Keto Diet Easy to Maintain

Starting anything new can be a bit stressful, but if you are prepared then you cut the stress in half. Do yourself a favor and prepare ahead of time.

For me, it was the easiest when I prepared everything and got what I needed before I decided to start the keto diet. I wanted to make sure that I was set up for success rather than having to go shopping each day or even every other day. It's not fun when you're not prepared.

Not to mention it's really easy to get off track and decide to throw in the towel if you're not prepared.
